The village of Blunsdon has had a shop for over twenty years – run by a group of volunteers from the community, for the community.
Originally located within a small cabin on the high street we moved to a much bigger building off Sams Lane, opening the new space in March 2023. The building was gifted to the community by Hayfield Homes as part of their planning application.
We were also fortunate to have many generous sponsors to enable the expansion including Community First, The Prestbury Cottage Trust and the Highworth Lions organisation, as well as community fundraising support through shares, personalised block paving and events.
We’ve been settling into our new home and continue to adapt to the changes that running a bigger shop (and now café) bring.
We have a team of eleven volunteers on the Management Committee, many of whom give their time alongside day jobs to make sure this community asset is the very best that it can possibly be.
We welcome any feedback that you may have and are always open to hearing about new products or services that you feel could benefit the community as we continue our new journey.
To provide a social hub for the community, a safe space where people can meet and socialise with friends, residents and meet new people. We’ve got lots of plans to host events, groups and meetings within the café. If you have ideas for other events or meet ups we would love to hear from you.
To provide a diverse product range within the shop, catering to the wants and needs of the community by consistently reviewing the stock we sell to ensure we are meeting our customers expectations.
